January 2011
Hello, Friend! I hope your holidays were a welcome time with family and friends! I have been home, happily enjoying the simple pleasures of life without a deadline over my head. With unscheduled time, I was able to do some straightening, purging, and organizing in my studio. UH-OH, there is too much fabric in there! Better get the cutting equipment out and sew, sew, SEW! Spring 2011My Spring workshops are looking good, and many of the classes still have openings! I would love to catch up with you, and welcome you to join me in a workshop near you. Please pass / forward this newsletter to a friend who may want to attend with you! Working from "stash"Just this past week I had the chance to use the small 3" diamond ruler (one of two rulers in the "Fussy Cutter" diamond ruler set) and create an all-new Starburst quilt! The fabrics are entirely from my stash. I worked on the design wall, rearranging until I liked the placement. The original quilt, pictured in the Quick Star Quilts & Beyond book, was made with Michael James Colorstripes fabrics, and cut with the 6-1/2" diamond ruler. The quilt is currently on display at Quiltique in Henderson, Nevada. Please stop in, if you're in the greater Las Vegas area, or better yet, take the workshop! 2011 - Finish the UFO's!Like you, I am committed to finishing my UFO quilts-in-progress this year! If you started a quilt top in one of my workshops, and really want to finish it up, don't hesitate to register & come to class with the same project and continue sewing until its done! I have several terrific workshops coming — and would love to see you there! Refer to my online Teaching Schedule any time for more details. The list, below, is only through May. USA engagements
